Edit Google Docs On Your iPad
Google says that their new documents editor will now allow you to edit documents on your mobile device. They claim the following benefits:
- You can work on that important memo…while on the bus or train to work.
- If you're behind on a group proposal, but really want to make it to the ball game tonight, your whole team can work on it from the bleacher seats.
- You can take minute-by-minute notes at a concert so you'll always remember the setlist. And your friends can jealously follow in real-time at home.
Below is a video from the press release. I use Google Docs a lot and I'm glad to see this feature added (finally). After the announcement, I got out my trusty iPad and sure enough I could edit my Google Docs. Be aware, however, that it is only basic editing. Very basic. Hopefully Google will add more functionality in the future but if you are in a hurry and need to make some simple edits then this is going to make you very happy.
For the best Google Doc Editing, Documents 2 Go is still the winner. Time will tell if Google keeps adding features or if this will just remain a very basic doc editor.
